Company announces two key appointments in digital/social media marketing and privacy, data security and cyber-security law.

AUSTIN, TX – August 6, 2015 – PRLog — PicPocket, a mobile app and geofencing platform which enables the real-time capture, curation, mining and visualization of location-based content, announces the appointment of Dr. Nick Gerlich, Hickman Professor of Marketing at West Texas A&M University and Susan “Susie” Hoeller, Principal at the Hoeller Law Firm, to its board of advisors.

“There are no shortage of business models where getting real-time, location-based information isn’t valuable” explained Wolfram Gauglitz, President and CEO of PicPocket, Inc. “The addition of Nick and Susie to our Advisory Board will help ensure that every last one of PicPocket’s engagements takes the consumer and the market into consideration first – from addressing wants and needs to adhering to the highest standards and best practices as related to data collection and mining.”

Dr. Gerlich has been operating at the intersection of technology, media and marketing for more than thirty years. His interest in applying mobile solutions to real-world problems is matched only by his understanding of consumer behavior as it relates to e-commerce, social media, and engagement.

“PicPocket offers users the opportunity to engage with people and brands,” said Gerlich. “By crowdsourcing photos based on geofencing, users can more easily capture and share a full, rich experience in a more elegant manner – focusing on date, time and location to establish an event’s uniqueness instead of relying on an arbitrary #hashtag to curate content.” Gerlich adds “Doing so enforces the purity and integrity of event content while preserving a company’s ability to safeguard its brand.”

Susie Hoeller has over three decades of experience working with publicly traded global companies and entrepreneurs specializing in commercial contracts, technology transactions, IP licensing, product safety and regulatory compliance. Her experience at large multi-nationals provides invaluable insight into how a startup should prepare itself for high-growth.

“While PicPocket started off as a consumer play, we’ve had strong, third-party interest in leveraging the platform towards a multitude of enterprise applications, ranging from management of master planned developments to disaster relief and port security” said Susie Hoeller. “It’s fair to say that if a business model relies on real-time content to drive decision-making, there’s a very good chance that PicPocket can help streamline and optimize that process.”
